X5 NOT SPORTY and edgy enough for you? BMW has a solution , and it's called the X6 based on the X5 and made at Spartanburg in US, the sporty X6 has performance right on top of its objective list. Power sources range foem a version of the M5'S lusty V10motor for the X6M to a twin -turbo V8. good for 410bhp. A very powerful disel is on the cards as well , as is a hybrid.

Longer than X5, but considerably less upright the car also has an almost-coupe-like roof. The massive wheel arches, flame surfacing for the flanks and sharp cut head and tail-lamps make this car look stunning. The raised suspension and tight -fitting roof alos make for almost - Paris- Dakar racer -like dimensions.

BMW says this will be the best driving and handling SUV in the world, and we'd take their word for it. Not only will the mass of the car be better controllable, but there is also a new four-wheel-drive system that enhances grip by transferring torque where it can be most effectively used. Additional torque is transferred to the outside wheels of the X6 during cornering and this reduces understeer.

All in all, a sporty car that should be just right for our conditions here in India. Ladakh? Rajasthan? Anywhere. And you will be able to keep your right foot down the whole time
