IF YOU THOUGHT the old RS6 was mad, get a load of this one! The new twin-turbo VIO version makes a scarcely real 580bbhp. Yes, almost 600bhp! And that, on the first clear stretch of road, means goodbye BMW M5, auf wiedersen. This 5.2-litre V10, according to Audi, is an all-new development. It actually makes 60bhp more than the Lambo unit. If it's torque you're after, remember this motor reaches its peak of 66.2kg from only 1500rpm, practically just off idle. And all that in an estate car that doesn't look too hotted up either. Miss the deeper chin oil the car, the large, but subtly-flared wheel arches and those massive wheels and this could be any old mom's wagon. You can even put Fred, your Alsatian, in the back, but with all that grip and power oil hand, make sure you don't injure him.
