The Indigo CS, we believe, is the best looking car in the Indica/Indigo range: that short chunky rear end giving it a sense of strength and balance. But the reason why Tata made it was not to win design competitions but to take advantage of tax breaks for cars below four metres. And that's exactly what it is: a sub-four metre Indigo with a truncated boot, that has more luggage space than an Indica (400 litres). It's a pity that the boot openning is rather small - a hatch would have made so much more practical sense.
