VOLVO LAUNCHED A NEW variant of its XC90 SUV in India on October 15. Christened the XC90 R-DESIGN, the SUV features a sports tuned chassis, sports tuned exhaust system, 19" wheels, speed-sensitive power steering and sophisticated stability control technologies. The new variant comes with the 4.4-litre V8 petrol producing 315bhp and 440Nm of torque; the same engine that does duty in the XC90. Other highlights of the R-DESIGN include new instrument cluster design, exclusive leather upholstery and carpets with decor piping. The R-DESIGN is available in five colour options of which Passion Red is exclusive to the variant. The SUV costs Rs 58 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
